It’s officially cold outside, and there’s nothing better than a nice cocktail to warm you right on up. We asked Adam Patrick of Match in South Norwalk about two of his favorite cocktail recipes for this chilly weather, and can’t wait to sip these on a chilly winter evening.
HOT BUTTERED CIDER
1) Heat cider on stovetop until almost at boil. Hold in a crock pot on high.
2) Add 4 cinnamon sticks, 40 cloves, 6 star anise, 2 whole nutmeg and a teaspoon of allspice cloves to cider. Let sit for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
3) In large mixing bowl, combine 1# (lb) of softened butter, brown sugar and white sugar and a teaspoon each of ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice cloves. When fully combined mixture should look like cookie dough.
4) Add 1 ounce St George Absinthe to an 8 ounce glass, add a round tablespoon of batter to glass. Fill with hot cider and stir to incorporate. Grate dried star anise over top for aromatics.
