The committee has launched a new website that boasts of the exquisite town, telling you everything you need to know. From Compo Beach to Devil’s Den, The Weston Way, has only the best resources to help a newcomer feel at home. Local professionals of Weston have volunteered their time and talents to create the new marketing campaign, a website called The Weston Way . Bill Douglass, Principal of Gotham Communications, has spearheaded efforts to spread the word about Weston’s new brand, “Rather than an online bulletin board for town announcements and such, it’s more the friendly face of the town for the outside world to see. It’s the brainchild of our subcommittee’s resident marketing guru, Marc Karasu. Marc is a pro at getting his clients seen and heard online, and sees a website and other online initiatives as necessary for any town’s marketing efforts to be successful,” said Douglass.
For families growing tired of the hustle and bustle of living in or near the city and looking to relocate to a place with space and amazing schools; Weston is only about a one-hour train commute from NYC, but far enough away to feel like you’re getting away. “Some of us on the Marketing & Communications Subcommittee have young children and are relatively recent arrivals to Weston, having been drawn by the top-ranked schools, the down-to-earth lifestyle, easy access to New York City, and other attributes. The list goes on and on, but we were also thunderstruck that a town with so much going for it wasn’t really on the radar of more like-minded people, particularly other parents. We volunteered for this subcommittee in order to change that,” said Douglass, “It’s a pretty novel idea: a town of only 10,000 or so actually marketing itself, but in a digital era, with so much competition for the attention from home buyers and others, we think it’s an idea whose time has come. Weston may be the first town of its size to market itself, but it won’t be the last.”
